COSTS

The Ballarat Surgicentre has contracts with most major Private Health Funds and the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Private Health Insurance Funds offer patients many different levels of cover. Patients that have a current Health Fund membership may or may not be fully covered for their hospital admission.

The out of pocket costs for a hospital admission is dependent upon the level of health insurance cover an individual holds.

Our dedicated team at the Ballarat Surgicentre will complete eligibility checks with your health fund and advise you of your excess, co- payment or any out of pocket expenses prior to your day hospital visit.

If your health fund is not contracted by Ballarat Surgicentre or if you do not have private health insurance then an out of pocket expense will be incurred and you will be notified prior to your visit.

All hospital related out of pocket expenses are to be paid to the Ballarat Surgicentre on the day of hospital admission prior to the procedure. Please feel free to contact the team on 03 5303 0190 to confirm if your Private Health fund has an agreement with the Ballarat Surgicentre or visit their website for their preferred providers.

Ambulance Fees

There have been changes to legislation that has resulted in healthcare card holders no longer being covered for transport to and from Private Hospital Facilities. Patients that require Ambulance transport must pay for this themselves or be an Ambulance subscriber.
