The Day Surgery Special Interest Group held a conference on Saturday November 14th. Day Surgery nurses across Victoria came along and got to check out the Brand New facility. We had one of our Dermatologists, Dr Ray Cocciolone provide an educational slide show about Skin Cancers. We also had a panel of 4 of our Skin Cancer Patients participate in giving fantastic consumer feedback on their perspectives as a patient and their experience which everyone felt very fortunate to listen to. After some lunch and a chat everyone participated in a game where you and a team mate would have to be a scrub or scout nurse and race against the clock to see which team was the fastest at setting up theatre for surgery. It was hilarious and was a lot of fun for all. Overall it was a fantastic day for those who came and we look forward to hosting more events here at the Ballarat Surgicentre.
